    Mac OS X 'Tiger'

Anybody have any info/photos? Or a source for a copy of it before October? :)

    I wish.
Mac comes out with new operating systems too often since they started OS X, it's hard to keep up. I wonder if I would get a discount since if it comes out in October, I would have only had my computer for 11 months.

Microsoft doesn't make you pay for their service packs.

What is this, OSX SP4 or 5 now?

Well, I wouldn't quite call them "service packs." They make functional / visual improvements in each version. There are updates you can download for free which are comprable to Microsoft's service packs. For example right now OS X Panther (OS 10.3) that is currently updated would be OS 10.3.4.

            ;)

EDIT: and Charlie, these are OS re-designs, not service-packs. It's like a Win95 -->98 -> 2000 type thing (i think, never really used microsoft OS's much).

I'll have a copy in August.

Apple has been working really hard with OS X. It has been out for 3 years now, so it seams like a new one comes out every year.

10.3 is so far the BEST! It just works so well and you can do so much!

There are "service packs" that's how I have 10.3.4. This makes my computer OS X version 3 patch level 4. Each version of OS X has been a LEAP forward from the last.

Hold on before you start to bash Apple, Microsoft came out with 3 Os's in a few months. Needs patches every week, and cost a HELL OF A LOT MORE!

I got real licenses for all my Mac's at work for $400 that covered 25 Macs! No install code, you got to love that!!
