    Dakar Rally: CANCELED!!

The Dakar Rally was canceled Friday on the eve of the race due to safety concerns after the slaying of a French family in Mauritania was blamed on al-Qaida-linked militants.

    Wow.

Yup, just read that a while ago. Like a buddy of mine suggested: they should just start loading the cars with guns and going Mad Max style through Africa.

This is also one of the reason why oil is back at $100 a barrel. Unrest in Africa.

Fuck that shit, I'm surprised none of the contestants decided to race anyways.

You know statistically speaking even in a 3rd world nation full of tourist that are part of the racing and watching the race its pretty low that anyone is in real danger, i mean seriously its not like there going to nuke a freaking race in the desert.

We need someone to "donate" a 325ix for the cause with some major upgrades and then get some sponsors and enter in the 09 race :). All we need to cover the 20,000 Euro entry fee for 2 drivers and another 10k Euro in other fees :). Should be a fun drive in the desert. I have seen in the past where some cars have won.
