    Oil Pressure Switch question.

I am attempting to bench test some custom gauges, Oil pressure and Oil temp. I have a seonsor here that is half oil pressure sensor and oil pressure switch so I should have to be able to keep the idiot light while having a gauge without using a distrobution block.

So my qustion is what signal or voltage is in the oil pressure switch wire? Im away from my car at the moment so i cant really test it for myself sorry.

I am assuming that it is just a ref. voltage that is looking for the switch to click over to ground when the pressure is too low. I really dont want to smoke the sensor so what voltage am i lookin for?

Here are the gauges for those who missed the thred...

Simplest circuit evar. You will have 12v at the switch with the key on. All it is, is one side of a bulb with switched +12v, and the other side grounds through the switch itself.

(12v=w.e. batt voltage is, should you care to be precise)

great... thats what I was hoping for. I just didnt know if the voltage was somehow stepped down.

From what I know - a guy in Germany that only made a few. ~$500
