I've heard that there is a write-up or tech article floating around somewhere on installing (wiring) e36 toggle window switches to the e30 wiring. I can get them to light up, but can't get them to function the windows. Anyone have or remember a link somewhere for this? I tried a google search and ended up with a couple of wasted hours reading insignificant unknowledgeable articles written by clueless hacks.

Well, if you'd get off your ass and do something once in a while, we wouldn't run into these problems would we.Originally posted by JasonHOpps...Sorry I didn't email the .pdf file of the write-up to you...
UNHCLL, thanks for the info. After reading it, I feel stupid. Something so obvious that I didn't think about.Don't forget the good things Hitler did.Comment

Re: E36 toggle window switches?
Well, well, well...perhaps if you didn't waste so much of your life at work I would have better access to your garage and I actually COULD get some something done... At least I know what my priorities are.Originally posted by RedBaron86325Well, if you'd get off your ass and do something once in a while, we wouldn't run into these problems would we.

Anyway, I printed the write up, studied it at home.....simple enough. Well, maybe not that simple. I have two different styles of these switches. There are only 4 friggin wires. I can get them to light up, but cannot get them to activate the window motor. I've tried three different switches thinking one of them was not functioning properly. I like these switches but I'm giving up on them. I hate e36's anyway, especially automatic M3's.Don't forget the good things Hitler did.Comment

I'm sure you thought of this, but arent the switches in your car non-lighted? you'd need the non-lighted E36 switches to match....????Originally posted by RedBaron86325LOL

I tried them in my car (with lighted switches) as well and they still didn't work. They would light up, but the window wouldn't budge.Originally posted by UNHCLLI'm sure you thought of this, but arent the switches in your car non-lighted? you'd need the non-lighted E36 switches to match....????Originally posted by RedBaron86325LOL
