Thats bullshit, 100 percent. I dislike Windows, but XP is a pretty damn stable OS if you know what your doing, and there is software out for PC's that can do the same shit that a mac can.
Even if a Mac has an advantage else where, its all taken care of if you run a PC with linux on it. Then, you have a computer that performs much faster, yet can still do the same shit that a windows/mac computer does.

Macintoshes are for people who do not know better, and like paying fuckloads of money for slower hardware. Before anyone starts bitching about the cost of a prebuilt PC, save it and refer to my previous sentence.

I'm not sure why everyone is going ga-ga over the ipod/connectivity thing. I've been hooking my MP3 player up to my head unit with audio-in for years. Hell, I've hooked it up in my GF's POS 94 accord with one of those tape deck CD converertor deals.

I'm still confused on what makes the ipod so much cooler than the nomad/jukebox things that have been out for the past 6+ years, have the same capacity, and run about 150 bucks cheaper.

True, last month's Mac World had an article comparing a bunch of MP3 players that were comparable to the iPod and worked with both platforms. Prices were all over the board.

Yes, a Mac will cost more then a PC.
They are built much better and have a longer life. I just sold a 500mghz Power Book that is 4yo for $700! No PC will hold that type of value.

If you do cost over time, the Mac is a much better buy. Would you use a 4yo mid-line PC? Mac's work just fine.

The software thing is NULL, both have the save stuff available and work about the same. I will say most Mac software is easier to use and has a better "feel" to it.


SLOW? That just shows ignorance. You know the fastest computer in the WORLD is a Mac, well a few Mac's. hands down they are faster, even comparing a PC with double the clock speed.

What you use is what you use, but unless you have both you really don't know.

What I don't understand is how completely irate people get over this mac vs pc debate. doing so only proves your lack of knowledge in the matter. There is no argument as to which is better.


They are both 2 completely different types of hardware, with 2 completely different operating systems, and whether you use mac or PC you do so based on your preference. There is no point in making an argument over it except to have a tantrum like a child. Nobody is going to be convinced either way based on what they read here, or any on there thread/site/magazine. What it comes down to is using what you like better.


It's just like people arguing whether Porsche or Ferrari is better, hardcore porsche fans will stand behind the carrera gt no matter what the Enzo guys have to say, and vice-versa.

For those of you considering buying a new headunit, Alpine has already signed a licensing agreement with Apple for full integration of the iPod. Charlie, yes I have used mine for years in my car via the tape adapter/aux-in, but these are cool because you have total control over the device through the headunit (Track names, playlist change, etc etc).

Crashed atleast 5 times in 2 months, and when I tried to send stuff from a school mac and open it on my PC at home, it woulnt work.
Just telling the facts.

What I would like to see is that my biology teacher has a mac with windows operating system :o

My current Mac (this is my 4th), I bought in November, it crashed for the first time a week ago when I was installing Windows on Connectix Virtual PC so I could run my BMW ETK/TIS.

The programs may be the same but they act differently, and some have different tools.

Every file I make on my mac, my PC can open and edit.

Wow, someone obviously either doesn't have a clue how a Mac works, and probably hasn't used one since they went to OS X. The only files that are for Mac only are system files. Application files are usable between both platforms. I know very few people that have Macs, and those people used to be PC users and swear they'll never go back (hell, I used to be all a PC user...still am at work). My experience is that almost everyone that hates Macs are those who haven't had the opportunity to use one for more than 2 minutes or are afraid of them.

trust me i use mac's all the time. i cant stand them. and im not talking about your everyday files. imi talking about video and video graphic files. (built on and by mac's from profesional tpae machines.) these arent compatible from mac to PC, becuase the mac version of the editing programs are diffrent. trust me, if you lived in my industry, you would hate these "pro-consumer" BS platforms also.

anyway, for the record, MAC's are no worse or better then PC's, they are diffrent. and they make life difficult. they finally figured out they cant live without the words "IBM compatible" and "microsoft" and they still pretend they are diffrent. Just like Red Hat, it looks and acts just like windows.... anyway, ive worked IT for 4.5 years, and ive been doing video production and engineering for the past 2, i have a lot of experience with both standards, and i ahte them both, but apples whole aproach about diffrent and better is BS, it just looks diffrent, costs more, and is the same crap deep down inside.
