vin #

i got a used engine from Bavarian auto recylcling, i know of 2 places on the engine were the vin # is, on the end side with the tranny covering it and under all the heater hoses. i was just wondering if there is a place to find the vin other than those places, or do they make that impossible.. thanks

On M20 engines there should be one of those black VIN stickers like the ones on all the body panels stuck on the block on the little plateau where the plug for the old style distributor is, next to the alternator, below the thermostat housing.
