    e34 M5?

Wrong forum I know, but how do you all like the e34 M5s?

Just ran across one today that seemed a bit cheap and it piqued my interest:

They are real expensive to maintain, other than that, they are great cars. For 3 grand, that car either needs alot of work or is a scam.

Depends on the motor history, but I can only imagine how a fairly unkept E34 M5 with 192k miles on it runs. Probably has not had a valve adjustment in 30k miles :p

so buy it, sell the shell, then sell the e30, then the first born, then a full o.e.m. rebuild, then sell kidney for clean e30 by the time your done.

Ah, seems you're right, not an M5.

Asked for pictures and a little info from the guy, he replied with this:
"dont know shit about car its my sons car and he know a little but you need to look and drive it that is all i can say"

                        Haha

haha fucking idiot. If someone's son had an M5 I'd hope they would know SOMETHING about it.

Definitely not an M. My parents have one with 90k on it, and it hasn't had any major problems. The S38 eats v-belts for some reason, and it needs a valve job every 10k-15k miles. The adaptive suspension is also extremely expensive to repair if yours leaks, shocks are a few grand a pop. Ours also had some severe oil leaks, but those were easy enough to fix. Expect a good M5 to run around $15k with higher miles, the good ones are often more like $25k. Euro 3.8-liter cars are worth almost $40k in the US if they are really nice. We only got the 3.6.
