    318is suspension

    Hey,

The shocks on my 318is are pretty much shot, and i figure I might as well upgrade the springs and shocks while im at it. Can anyone, specifically the 318is owners tell me what they run on, and how they like it? I wouldent mind my car being a bit lower, but dont want it really low. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks

go H&R sport/Bilstein sport. or maybe just some Bilstein HD's if you don't plan to swap your springs.

you could probably get away with Biltstein HD's and springs from an E30 M3.

I run the H&R cup kit on my 318is. For my purposes, which is daily driving and occasional mountain drive and autocross, it works great. While soft on 325s, I think it is just great on my car. Much stiffer than stock, less dive, squat, and body roll, yet still compliant enough that my girlfriend doesnt mind riding in it.

Its probably too low for you, my rear tire is barely tucked. but the cup kit is a good low priced alternative.

Ground Control Semi Coil Overs with Koni SAs is where it's at. That's what I am on
Height adjustable to match desired set up and/pr ground clearance.
Suspension setup well on an m42 just like any e30 will make you ADORE it.

I am getting new suspension very soon as well and I plan on getting H&R Sport/ Billstein Sports. This is my daily driver so can someone tell me which is softer; Eibach or H&R?? I'm not tracking this car, it's for college. I just want something mildly stiff with a drop that doesnt give my is lip nightmares.

            .

Can someone tell me the standard sump to ground height on a standard 90 318is, as mine is about 4inches and looks very low.

H&R Semi Coil Over Height Adjustable Suspension, Camber Plates, Billet Rear Shock Mounts, Suspension Techniques Sway Bars

Although expensive, it makes for a very tight, very responsive set up without ANY squat, dive or roll. Absolutely killer on track on the track and supple enough for daily driving.
