That was built in to deter people from buying automatics, because the gods of cars told them to do so.

WD 40 and it will be a bit lighter on the foot and not as stiff.

I cleaned and lubed up my gas pedal assembly and wire linkage and then cleaned up and lubed up the throttle pulleys a bit after i cleaned it a bit of course and now my pedal is lighter a-lot lighter kinda like cloud.
Personally i like tons better then before.

Try it on your car. its all about the use i guess isnt hmm.

            anyway this is offtopic

it seems like one time i tried, umm for lack of a better word, "undoing" the spring that closes the throttle butterfly one round. that made a HUGE difference, but then it seems like the throttle wouldn't close as quickly or completely like it should. so, i changed it back. i do believe it is normal for autos. gas pedals to be stiffer. i wonder what the real reason is for that though.

probably becuase it has to pull the trans cable as well...

mine isnt that hard tho... but could probably use a new cable

the kickdown cable is connected to the throtte body also. rmove it, then try the pedal again. :P
