I'm new here, look what I bought

I have always wanted an E30 and just recently picked on up on ebay, we are flying to Chicago next weekend to drive it back, it should be a blast.

Good start and nice price if thats what you got it for
Are those seats just faded tan? I think it looks like a straight up grey?

The seats are pretty badly faded, but at some time were tan. It was a good deal but will turn out to be about 1.5K by the time i get it back to Clemson.

Nice start. When he said "so we'll need to yank on the hood release cable", not needed. Take a screwdriver and insert in between the screws on the lock itself (look inside the grills...youll see it) and give it a turn. It should open. Good Luck.

Did he say anything about rust? Being that is coming from Chicago.

True mileage unknown, prior owner replaced the gauge cluster with a cluster from an eta car. It seems all of the gauges aren't all connected correctly.
                WTF?

                Clean start - have fun.

Looks like a solid project. As long as she runs great then I think you got a decent deal.

You going to restore her, driver her as is, or track her?

a little rough, but a good place to start since the motor is solid. hopefully it comes as described, and not any worse! But the previous owner was familiar with e30's, thats a good sign. Didn't all late is's come with power sunroof? Congrats on the new car though! Listing doesn't say anything about the suspension either...

Has Minimal rust above the dent in the rear panel and a little on the top of the licenses plate frame. I asked him about the mileage and he estimates it around 130K. The guy is very knowledgeable and seem nice. I asked him to check on the suspension and timing belt which hopefully has been changed. I plan to make it a fun car to take to the auto-x and just wrench around on, considering i have six friends that have E30s.

Welcome and Good find and decent starter e30 for you for sure. I would be very hesitant to drive it back to SC not knowing about the timing belt IMHO. That is the one thing that can make a good day go bad on that long of a road trip. But good luck...

I can only hope the belt holds till i can get her home, but this way it is more of an adventure.
