took a ride in an m3 the other day

my friend was able to get a hold of his brothers s52 powered e30 m3 so he gave me a ride and wow, i am in love with that car. i know i will never be able to get to that sort of power but it made me rethink not putting any money into my car :D . i never thought i would ever see an e30 m3 that close, let alone ride in one with an s52. i am still amazed by the power of that car.

If it's an S52 E30 M3, then there's no reason you can't have that kind of power.

Ride in a real M3 and see what they're all about. Not that I'm a hater of the S52, I just think you should feel the S14.

you are correct the S52 is more powerful then the S14, but it's the feel he's referring too. A light weight, high reving, 4 banger.

you will find that the M3 group is very divided on the issue, some love the swap, the others hate it.... and many, many discussions have taken place on that very topic.

thanks for the clarification. and now that i understand what bimmerphile was referring to, yes, i would still love to ride in an s14 m3.

            Understatement :-)

niq_nak: what it usually comes down to are people respecting the M3 for what it is vs what they want it to be. The latter are the folks that swap it with a S__.

Personally, I'd prefer a S14B25 M3 and an S50B32EU M3, but I think I could only do that swap if the M3 was missing an engine, and I already had my S14B25 M3.
