I love it, all of the aero bits seem to flow better than most race cars. Wish the front bumper was availible for the street without the dive planes.

Not that that's a bad thing.

I'm still waiting for BMW to get back into DTM, but it's about time we see a factory backed BMW again!:p

My biggest complaint with the new M3 was that they weren't racing it.

Anyone have the official press release photos? I'm dying to do some DTM Warsteiner livery on it in Photoshop.

EDIT: Nevermind, found a place with them here

For those of you who don't know about the ALMS or have never been to a race, get your soggy butt out there and see a race. You cannot beleive how fast these cars are. Seeing it on TV does not even come close to doing it justice. The sounds, the smells, the vibrations, and the incredible speeds, there is nothing like it.
We'll see how competitive this car is when it comes out. I suspect we will see it in a race before the end of the 2008 season, possibly at Laguna.
Here is a short clip I shot a few years ago at Portland. The video sucks, but just listen to those cars!

                          <embed style="width:400px; height:326px;" id="VideoPlayback" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" src="http://video.google.com/googleplayer.swf?docId=7599346956944784025&hl=en" flashvars=""> </embed>

If that embed doesn't work, like it looks like it is not... here is the link:

Or last year. Yeah, I was extremely bummed. Portland just didn't draw the crowds that the ALMS wanted to see. Bad advertising and brutally hot weather were the major part of the problem in my mind.

And, it looks like CHAMP car is falling apart and will be absorbed by the IRL. I would suspect that that means there won't even be a CHAMP car race here this year.
