    last thread for the night...

So how much gas/time/miles can I go on will little in gas tank?
I'm talking about when you hear the ding...and the gauge reaches the red zone.

I've gone 45-50 miles in my 318, no idea how much more because that's all I was willing to push it. My 325, probably 20 is the most I'd go with the light on.

Most I've done is about 10 miles in the e30m30 when the light comes on - I get really SCARED!

i think when the light goes on you have approximately 1 gallon left. Next time take note of how many gallons it takes to top off when your gas light comes on.

When I drink heavily my light goes on sooner.

when my light goes on i've usually got about 8 liters left. thats about enough for 80km's and your running on fumes.

Well, since I only get about 20-25mpg , I try not to push my luck. I've gone about 8 miles or so. Plus, it's probably bad for the intank fuel pump to run it till it's dry .

i drove once until the OBC said --- for the range. Probably like 35-40 so miles, non turbo

the other e30 didnt have a bulb and the fuel sender wasnt working so i drove it out of gas on the way to work one day. that sucked big time.

My 535is has had the light on for so long that it now doesnt even work. I just make sure the tank is full before I go anywhere far away.

This reminds me of an episode of Sienfeld.

And I've never seen the light on my car. I usually fill up when it's between 1/4 and 1/8 tank.
