    cabrio owners...

OK, so we had our first big rain yesterday and I go and check out my Mtech today. I found the rear carpet moist to the touch so I lift it up and see a huge puddle of water underneath!! I checked under the front carpet and it was OK.

Just wondering where the common places are to check for leaks? Is this common?

Also when folding down your tops, how do you keep the fabric from rubbing and tearing?

    Thanks guys.

any seals... water is funny....some leaks are really hard to find because they are coming from somewhere pretty far away from where the water is collecting....
look for any seals that would be bad... rear side windows

Water can go anywhere ! It's really the most profound substance on the Earth. Think about it, it's the only liquid that when it solidifies Floats.

Cool, I'll check it out. But doesn't this compartment get sealed off. Or its supposed to when the back half of the top closes down.

              top

get in the back and have somebody run a hose over the whole top of the car and see if you can see where its coming in. Did that to my dads car around 15 years ago and it worked. Chances are its coming in around the seals for the back windows.

Wouldn't call it an art.....but just realize that the fabric and straps must fold towards the rear......as you fold the top down, just under the front of the top, the fabric will want to stick out forward....just tuck it in along with the straps. Also, always make sure your plastic rear window doesn't crease as it folds. Kinda hard to explain but I think if you know that you must help it fold properly you can figure it out. The straps are supposed to do this, but over time they don't work as well.

Guess not. 8) I didn't know there was a card there when I first looked at the car so it took like 20min to put it down... (it was from a dealer who didn't know either)

The front seal on my car leaks, and It is right above me. It is really the most annoying thing to back up out of my driveway and water just starts pouring into my lap. I have to carry a towel around with me all the time just in case. I would check the storage compartment like nate said tho. Good luck with it.

our mtech cabrio leaks water above the driver door window. Our mtech II was a lemon man my dad bought it but what a mistake he didn't look it over and had heard from another dealer (personal friend) that this guy was turstworthy. Needless to say we are still pouring money into it.

                              check the window seals

also, i hope it has a manual top on it also, the auto manual tops are different (we just ordered a new top)

when we got ours we had to buy all new motors for the top, and mechanicals, the auto top woudln't latch down like a manual top does.

we've invested prob 5k trying to get the top to work right-my dad said fuck it i've pad this much i am making this son of a bitch work.
