    027 vs. 021

I have a 027 in my car and a chipped 021 in my hands.

Do I have a problem? besides having an eta in my driveway.

Will the 021 work in my 01/86 build date 325e?

Both the ETA ECUs I have are 027s. Is the 021 for an eta? It should work if it is. All the 325i ecus are interchangeable as well.

I was told by the seller that it was an eta dme, that he had taken it out of his eta. It has a pink sticker part # 0 261 200 021, realoem.com had no record for that pn. I guess I'll give it a shot, what's the worst that could happen? I'll blow all the electrics in my car?

Start out by comparing the plugs. If they are the same give it a try. It couldn't hurt anything.

If it is wrong, the engine won't start. There is really not going to be a problem with your electronics. Give it a shot and let us know what happens.

It works fine, and I must reiterate what I have heard on this board and others; the chip makes the eta a completely different car, the idle and acceleration are vastly improved. Best $75 worth of performance mod I've ever purchased.

BTW here is another 021 dme for $5.
