Hey black/gray lowered, fancy wheels, primer fender guy in San Diego!

On 5 north by 52 or La Jolla Village Drive or somewhere around there. I never, ever, ever see other E30s when I'm in my E30, so when I saw your car coming up behind me, I got really excited. So why in the living hell didn't you even look over? I had to drive next to you and stare at you as hard as I could to get you to look, and even then, you weren't even half as excited as I was to see another E30. You ruined my day.

Sorry about the completely useless thread. Just to redeem myself, here is a frightening car:

Hmm. Well I'll watch for you. :)

I think the guy had an AC Schnitzer badge on his car, or something similar. And if I remember correctly, he was wearing a cap. And he was mean.

He didn't look purple, and from what I could tell, his hands were normal sized.

eh don't feel bad. A month ago I saw a zinno plastic bumpered vert with a hardtop near my house, and I followed him a little while. But, he did not acknowledge me. I was distraught.

In Mass, E30 verts are rare as hell. Add in someone with a hardtop and you certainly have a rare beast!

              LOL.

I see an E30 every couple of days, and I haven't ever had one look over with anything more than feigned disinterest. Lame E30 drivers FTL.

The "problem" with the E30's is they're a terrific, durable RWD platform that had 170hp stock. In other words, they're the perfect cheap dorifto car. As the demand shifts from Hondas to RWD cars, it's only going to get worse I'm afraid.

              Tim

Edit: WTF is with that cabrio? I'd be tempted to go drive it just to see what it was all about. The interior can be swapped out and I have plenty of extry wheels. :D I can't imagine it's street legal, though.

the only E30s I ever see are built with parts from the asian section of pepboys and the occasionally ebay headlights. but I know there's a lot of nice ones around. maybe I should get out more.

I see a modded E30 every so often, but I'm usually in my Subaru. I figure if someone takes the time to build a purdy, clean, modified E30, then they'll appreciate another clean E30. Hell, I slow down and stare at every E30 I see, clean or not.

Go drive the convertible and take pictures, Tim. I wanna know more. If the swap is done decently at all, it can be made smog legal. As long as the engine is a US engine out of a newer model year car and they retained the factory smog equipment, it can be made legal. And if they didn't retain the factory equipment, you can always put it back on.

The ad says he's in Blythe. That's quite a jaunt for a test-drive. I think you and Ben should go stretch the legs on the M5 and get out there. Then you would have a terrific cameraman to get some proper pics.

If it was that fun to drive I'd probably register it out of state so I could avoid Kalifornia's smog crap altogether.

I have no idea where Blythe is, but it's beginning to look like the M5 is sold. I'd take the Suby up there, but I won't have another day off until the weekend after next.

Smog isn't so bad! Personally, I'd rather have a smog legal car that I don't have to worry about than a modified race car that I'm always having to watch for cops in. CARB approval=peace of mind. Damnit, I want a new STi.

Blythe's on the AZ border, there's not a whole lot out there besides a gas station and 4 houses from what I remember. And, if the interior was black, I'd dig the vert.

Hard day of huffing intake and throttle body cleaner? I'd switch back to brake clean if I was you, it's not nearly as hard on your braincells. ;)

Actually, I prefer starting fluid. It's got that nutty flavor that only a refined palate can detect. Noob.
