    E30 auto to manual conversion

I am interested in changing my automatic to a 5 speed. Is this a complicated process as far as electrical and the ECU are concerned?

there was an ebay auction for the complete change over- dont know if it would be legit considering he says nothing about electrical connections or the brain. Heres the link.

    Thanks for your help!

As far as I know you really don't need anything electrical, all mechanical stuff. A couple people on R3V have either bought or sold auto to manual swap kits so maybe they can chime in here af far as what was included. $900 is way too much though, I can tell you THAT for sure.

If you have a computer for your auto transmission, you simply unplug it and remove.

All you have to do is cut the connector off of your P/N safety switch and splice together a couple wires to allow the car to start and the reverse light switches to come on. It's pretty easy.

        be quite shitty santa.

I know joel who owns the eurodepot. His kit is awsome! its all quality parts you dont have to worry about the uncertinty of pulling the parts out of a junk yard car to get them installed just to find out its shitty. I would buy his kit... I asked him to put together a 5 speed to auto kit for my M3 he is working on it.

            changeover

ok, what about the compatibility with the years? I am shopping for a 325i or is for my daily driver, can I just swap the trannys and hardware if i were to buy a manual? if so, what years are compatible? Thanks again- Brian

Any parts from the 1987-1991 325i or is will work. I believe you can use parts from the 1984-1988 325e too.

Joel sells good stuff and stands behind his products. All the parts are there and this is a good buy but if you get a donor car it sometimes is cheaper. Your choice.
