    Int'l shipping costs

I'm thinking about ordering a set of tires from overseas, possibly the UK, does anyone know how much that would cost? I'm in california so it's a fair distance but it might be my best option.
The tires aren't for the e30 that would be a waste of money, they're for my gf's bug. For some reason you can't buy decent 165,175,185/70,75,80/R15 tires in this country only nankings and kumho powerstars.

    you've lost your mind.

It'll at least double the cost of the tires, probably more.

You're SURE there are no other options- hell, you're in Cali, the heart of the VW scene....there's gotta be another way.

If you want accurate info, the best place to ask is probably NOT an E30 forum full of broke-ass baggy pants :) Maybe ask the place you're thinking of buying them from????? Shipping cost is gonna vary a great deal- most businesses are not willing to shop around alot to get you the best deal on shipping, they will give them to whoever they normally ship with and that's that. Their main concern is dealing with a shipping company that delivers on time and does not lose a bunch of their packages.

One of my problems is the air-cooled vw set mostly just lower the hell out of their bugs then sit around and bitch about too much camber, ill handling characteristics, poor tire wear etc. This bug is bone stock and a daily driver not a sunday driver I want to put antique tires that cost $100+ each. I'm looking to embrace some of the last 40 years of advancements in tire technology.

Point taken, but these here broke asses are frequently about to mortgage their homes/condos/cardboard boxes to get giant heavy packages of rare and/or euro parts shipped halfway around the world so I figured someone might have a good idea ;)
