    Any MR2 fans?

My first car... 5 years ago was an 89 MR2 and I wish I never sold it :x

I wan't to get another one and have my eyes on a 1985 with a 20 valve (160HP!) motor swap. The car is also lightened and painted yellow. Too bad it is all the way in Texas and I'm in Ohio. Could be a fun drive home even without the AC!

A guy at my highschool had a really nice one with a widebody kit and custom paint. It won best car at my school senior year; I don't think anyone knew it was the non turbo version. It looked good though.

haha.. thats actually a coincidence I saw this thread today.. lol.. you want to hear a story about an mr2?

My friend and I are in his car today (02 civic) and were coming from a shop in PA. Get on the highway behind a white mr2 with rims lowered dual exhaust, he hits it getting on and we followed him. We get an open spot of road and the mr2 nails it.. my buddy hit it, automagic civic drops a few gears, we pass him around triple digits. For some reason i highly doubt the mr2 guy was maxed out. Then we slowed down and he passes us eventually. 5 miles up the road we catch up to him again and he gets off on the same exit as us. Its like a 35mph ramp and it just started raining (the slippery rain, road not soaked but not dry) I told my buddy to watch but his car is lowered and has some good tires on.. he ran right up on his bumper in the turns, mr2 guy was probably running at least 65 on the ramp.

Now to the fun part, get up to the intersection and the mr2 is turning off into a shopping complex and we head towards a traffic light. I guess this guy wanted to show off so he heads for the 90 degree turn pretty hard and i look over and see him heading straight for the curb!!!! his tires were fully turned, and they locked up on him and he slid right into the curb, it bent his front spoiler backwards but it think it spared his rim.. we laughed out asses off. I dont think he broke anything but man did he get OWNED..

I think they are okay cars, when there are okay drivers behind the wheel.. remind me of my fiero.. that was a cool car but the 2.5 4cyl 4 speed was a horrible set up.. but i had 4.10 final drive and dual exhaust baby!!!

A good buddy of mine had a supercharged mr2. I loved driving that thing, at least until I got into e30's.
