    325iX Cabriolet?

Yes I already checked to see if this has been talked about... Just daydreaming- would it be terribly difficult to put an iX drivetrain on a cabrio subframe/body? The first thing that came to my mind was possible torque/flexing issues. Otherwise, I don't know the iX well enough as far as fitment/dimensional issues. It would be a dream machine in my opinion.

Yes it would be very hard. The front suspension geometry is quite different. The strut towers are almost vertical on the ix.

If you got both cars it could be done, you would need the front clip from the iX and the floor pan of the iX to go into the convertible. You might have some issues with the rockers matching up though.

Why would you want a convertible IX.
IC= Spring and Summer= no snow
IX= Fall and Winter and Snow.
In my opinion I just do not see the need for it.

You got the same set-up as I do.... Ix for the snow/rain, Ic for the sun, and a e28 for everyday driving.

+1, I thought the exact same thing. I have a cabrio and want to buy an IX for the winter. I wouldn't mix both, unless you plan on driving it on the beach, in the sand ;-)

Way too much work for the small reward. Sorry, I don't see the point.
