    anyone ever respray/redye leather seats?

Just got a new parts car in with mint cardinal sport seats.I despise cardinal and want to respray or redye them pearl biege.Anyone have any recommondations for a do it at home application.I have reprayed door panels and seatbacks before with pepboy rattlecan crap and that held up good for about a year before needing another coat.Just want something a little better than that without going to a pro.

I have done it, you need to take all of the mounting brackets and all of the hardware off the seats. Start with 300+ grit paper and sand the leather, then use mineral spirits and get the paint residue off. Next sand with 600+ and repeat till all of the red dye is off and the leather is smooth. You will need to get automotive leather dye and crosslinker to mix with it, get enough to put in a paint gun with a compressor.
Basically from there you start laying down your coats, inbetween coats use a hairdryer to set the dye into the raw leather, keep using this process till the seats are completely covered.
Keep in mind this is the professional way to dye the seats. You can always try the leatherique system.

yes, I have a special leather paint, we painted my seats like 8 months ago and still look niew, no wears or scratch yet.

Even with" thinner" that solvent used in paint, can't take out the apint easily, my original seats were beige from factory, I purchased the car with re apinted seats in grey color, took off that oor paint and putted black.

here are towo pics of my seats

Ceck my site, there should a little bit more info, page 2
