Mirror painting question.

Has anyone had any issues with painting the original factory mirrors to match paint?

Body shop said that they did not know how the paint would hold up on the mirror material (may come off in 6 months). Anyone have issues, etc? Please give me feedback because they are painting the front M Tech II bumper and valance today and I thought mirrors would be nice also.

Trim paint doesn't have any problem sticking, so a normal base coat/clear shouldn't either. You know some mirrors come painted from the factory right? I'm sure they don't use some kind of voodoo magic. Just prime it well if you're worried.

paint sticks fine. what kinda body shop you go to anyway, that would reply like that.
ohh, BTW-- BMW apinted them from the factory too.
