    Driving with e-brake

alright, i took my moms car out today since my car is in the shop and me being a dumbass, i forgot to take off the e-brake, its an auto and i guess i just put it on out of habit. anyways, i went about 10 miles the whole way like 45mph and the brakes are pretty messed up. my mom is taking it in to the dealership tomorrow and i just wanna know what types of things she should expect to be replacing. its never happened before and she doesnt wanna get the whole "well u need this, this, this, this" when she really doesnt. and neither do i since im gonna pay for it. thanks.

Depends on how hard and how long it was driven with it on. It'll probably need parking brake shoes, maybe the return springs, and maybe even the rotors if it got hot enough. I've seen them get so hot that the springs warp and don't pull the shoes back in, and I saw one that stress cracked the rotor inside.

thanks. i wasnt drivin on it too hard, just real easy cruisin for like 20 minutes. when i got out there was some smoke coming out of the rear left tire though. and right before i got home the brake pedal feel was gone, i had to push the pedal in all the way to get it to start to brake. i think the brake pads in the rear are just burned out.

no idea, just forgot to take it off. would have never done it in my e30 cus the e-brake light is so obvious when its on. sure was scary when the pads went and i went to slow down for a red light and the brakes didnt catch right away  .

was it smoking, or did it wreak of smoke afterwards?

If so, chances are you taosted the shoes. On most cars, this is a very easy repair. All you have to do is pull off the rear wheels, caliper mounting bracket, rotor, and replace the shoes. then re-assemble.
