New shifter bushing = contact with driveshaft?

I posted this in the transmision/drivetrain sub-forum, but it doesn't really get any traffic, so I'm going to post this here too.

Ok, so I replaced my shifter bushing today, because the old one wasn't holding the lever very well, and when i"m done, on the test drive, something, which I would guess is the selector rod is making contact with the driveshaft, or something attached to it. I'm using the stock shift lever, so there shouldn't be any clearance issues. I still have the harmonic balancer on, and don't really want to take that off today.

Any ideas on why this is happening? Or how to fix it?

    TIA

well, get under your car and take a look if i is hitting. maybe it's just your reverse cable that is catching somewhere. If the selector is hitting, bend it up slightly, but there is probably something wrong that you'll notice when you are down there.

    Thanks
