I know that this should be in the tech section

This is sort of an emergency though.

My friend didn't know that if you don't start your E30 the first time, you have to turn the key all they way back and do it again, so you can only guess what happened. key broke if in ignition...

I had been starting it with a screwdriver for a few weeks, but the pins are probably fucked up now to the point of no return.

The steering wheel is "locked" from turning it after the car was shut off, so removing it can't happen, which means getting to the key tumbler can't happen, which is what I need to do to replace it.

I figure even if I hotwire my car, the steering wheel will still be locked.

WTF do I do? I think I'm just screwed all the way.

What bad luck. Sorry for putting this thread here, but this gets more traffic and I need this fixed immediately.

as soon as it happend you should have removed the key lock cylinder. ,ight have to take it to the dealer or a locksmith.

pull the key but out with a small drill bit and try it with another one (new dealer one?)

you could also jb weld it. use some pam on the smooth exterior part of the cylinder,so that the jb will only stick to the broken key. works with the 5 minute putty epoxy too.
