and i still dont see the huge deal about symmetrically, cleanly cutting a 20+ year old piece of plastic. if he got his hands on one, why cant all of you that spend 16hrs a day on bimmer forums find one?

People are haveing problems with it cause,
1: He came off as "Look at me, i got one of your rare parts and now i'm cutting it up"
2: Look at me factor again.
3: I got a euro car but yet i don't like how euro stuff looks, so now i'm going to make it more JDM looking.
4: Look at #1
5: Most people on here are purist that don't like that much change. Then when you get someone on here acting like he did, you're going to get the type of responces that he got.
6: He's acting as if $400 is nothing for a part to cut up. When some people on here would love to have a nice piece like he "had" but they can't afford it.




Newman, if you would like. Make a new thread in the project forum for those who want to see your progress on this project. Just leave your attitude out of it when you make it. But i do got to give you credit for calming down in the last few post in this thread.

and because those of us that still give a shit about our cars want to be able to find nice parts for them in ten year. take a look at 3g civic guys some time. in the 90s everyone and their brother snatched up every civic on the planet and stuck a fart can and a body kit on it, then drove the shit out of it until it died. the 3g civic is one of the most badass lightwieght racing platforms out there (look at gt lite) but try finding a 3g civic sometime, they're all in junkyards, and if you can find one running, good luck finding any parts worth putting on it. so you gotta respect the car, and the parts.

personally, i'm pretty nuetral on it, i'm into rat rods, and the motor swap is nuckin' futs, although it'll be hilarious watching that thing try to hook up long enough to beat an eta.

So Newman, I just read through that whole thread on the Lotus forum. While it still makes me a sad panda that you cut up the Tech1 valance, the work you're doing is amazing. You seem like a pretty stand-up cool guy, but why come off so douchey over here? I know we're elitist assholes, but I can still respect amazing work when I see it. Can't wait to see where this goes. That's right, I'm jumping on the Newman bandwagon as well.
