I would think that the lack of additional support could make it more dangerous than not having one at all. If it bends the wrong way, it could end up pushing forward into your head, that's why there are supports in the rear, to keep it vertical. I'd suggest you put additional supports in before final installation.Driving is the only way to go faster....Comment

You're insane, Diego.
I'd be ridiculously scared of the welds snapping or something else happening that will cause the bar to snap forward and hit your head.

Diego,
I understand the fact that you don't wanna loose your back seat or alter your interior but that is just a sacrifice you are going to have to make for safety. To summarize what everyone else has been saying;
The setup you currently have is UNSAFE.
Do it right the first time or don't do it at all. You can order a prebuilt professional roll bar. There are plenty of places to order roll bars in the states. If shipping to you is too much then get an experienced welder/cage builder to make you a safe, funtional bar. We all know how much you have spent on you car so far....don't start cutting corners on safety, which is so important.

I'm not sure its going to even do this without additional bracing.At least it will make the car more rigged.Driving is the only way to go faster....Comment

I think you should look into cages in e30s a lot better, your single hoop will risk breaking forward and snapping your neck, I ran supports to the back wheel arches, (not the best place) but its fairly thick metal there, Your plates look ok but I know it channels deeper into the lower seat pan portion then you have bent so im not sure what you did because it looks oh so shallow. Proper tubing would be like 1.75 .120 wall DOM tube. I would never want anything that is this unsafe anywhere near me, especially when I am paying for itComment

I know how wanting something sometimes leads you down the wrong path, but there is usually a point where your better judgement tells you that its not worth it, either physically or mentally. This is definitely true when it comes to safety equipment. I'd never try to make something when it can be purchased from people who spend their lives making these components work. Diego, take some of the advice on this board and at least hold off until you get rear supports in. And by the way, I'm not sure how much you spent, either in time or money, but you can buy SCCA legal solo bars for under $400 that you can either weld or bolt in.
How's that MC/Visa commercial go, home-made roll bar $50 bucks, harness $150, roll-bar padding $65, life PRICELESS.Driving is the only way to go faster....Comment
