    neglected e30

Gentlemen, I recently jumped the e30 and back it out of the garage after 5-6 weeks of winter hibernation and discovered an oil slick about the size of a paper plate inder the car as well and a small gas drip in 6 ft intervals as a idrove it up the drive way. I let the car sit runnig for about 10 minutes in front of my house and shut it down. Today there was no fluids under the car when i rolled it back. Everything was fine when i parked it and the oil pan seal and gas lines are about a year old. Should i be concerned or can i just drive the cobwebs out of her? Suggestions would be appreciated.

after not driving my car for a while i sometimes get gas leaks around the filter, like what you described. I am sure I should look into it, i think the hoses up there are pretty new though...

Where was the oil spot under the car? Towards the front of the engine or the back? Sometimes the rear main seal can become slightly out of shape when it sits for that long, expecially when they are old. It could have been that or maybe a leaking oil drain plug gasket.

The gas could be from the filter just being clogged up some and whatever. Not to sure of this, but if the car is not leaking after a short refresh, I would not be too concerned. I would, however, get under the car and look over the fuel lines and make sure there is nothing wrong with them before I go driving the car much.
