Jack the car from the diff and see if that takes an stress of of the towers. I doubt it will but it's a thought. Otherwise I'd say your car probably got hit at some point in the past so you'll probably have to slot the holes.

If it's anything like Ireland engineering's bars, they claim that E30s have 2 different measurements in the front.
May be that same effect in the rear...maybe. Just tryin ta help.

I have the ST rear sway. When you hold it up to mount it it looks like they should have made it a half inch wider. With some muscle and a Ryobi impact gun i was able to gey it mounted. Took about 3 hours and was not fun. I think you'll through off the resitance by changing the pivot point if you drill new holes. Get some of these. Should make it alot easier to mount.

i've done this before. you need two buddies. it should be too long. some come that way for longevity and better feeling. unless its way off then dont even try doing this

i bought a rear strss bar and it was about 5mm to large. i called and this is what they told me "it should be professionally installed" so they didnt really help.. so i called a shop and this is what they had me do and it worked.

                      1. get two friends and jack the car by the diff.
                      2. get some thinner nuts the same size and replace the originals with em and keep the originals cuz ull need em for the next step
                      3. have those friends stand on the rear wheels with all of their wieght. this should move the struts out a lil bit or at least enough to get the holes to line up. hammer that sucker down and then use the original bolts and put em over the strut brace.

if that didnt work you can always cut some 2x4 and use a scissor jack and spread em!

                      hope this helps!

should use a porta-power, thats what i used.
                          it spreads them with ease.
be sure to use wood blocks on each side so the towers dont dent.

the bar is actually too short. yes jacking off the diff is one of our jokes that we have around the shop, this came about when we were working on the pro-3 car and it was worth a good laugh for about an hour and a bucket of tears
