Question on 6speed transmissions

why would you spread mis-info about it not bolting to a M20? of course it does. the trans sits just a little bit sideways, but not bad. fits right intoi an e30 chassis in a e30, just need to break off a few of those tabs that hold the insulation in the tunnel.

for those who have done this swap, how much did you cut off your drive shaft? I know that the EVO E36 will work but i have a drive shaft shop that will cut and balance mine for a reasonable cost so all i need to know is what to cut.

when i swapped an e46m3 tranny into my e36m3 i took off 4 inches off the driveshaft....
it was done locally for $150-cut and rebalance of both sections,i'm running a 3.23lsd


the exta gear is so nice and it does save on gas when cruising at highway speeds.

Hmmm, if I can get one really cheap, I may have to see how this works on the M42. I don't think that it matters if the tranny is fragile; my motor definitely won't break it ;)

Would any of these 6-speeds work with the M42? I'm trying to get my highway revs a bit lower without losing what acceleration I have ;)
