5.0 engine into an e30? discuss

i want to see if anyone has done this, and how hard it would be. my buddy put an aluminum block 5.0 engine into his datsun 510 and it's the most ridiculous car i've ever driven. i think it would be cheap enough and lots of fun in an e30.

back in my american muscle days early1990s a 5.0 was the reference for the Mustang motor. 214hp if I remember right.
actually I have even seen one stuffed into an e30 over here in germany. not really all that impressive actually with all the other motor possibilities out there. a low boost turbo on a stock internal 325i should be stronger.-- and handle better.

                  Two different motors .

It has been done. There's one on bf.c somewhere. Plus there has been some on craigslist and ebay from time to time. And i don't see how a aluminum block 302 would be cheap to build.

s62 = lightweight monster that is easily able to get over 450hp. oh, and it totally will keep the same balance of the car!

The 5.0 isn't a bad engine at all, its just really choked from the factory. its got to be just about the cheapest engine ever made to add power to.

I have not seen any 5.0 e30, but it is actually a fairly common swap into a miata, and it makes for an exciting miata.
