    The 5.0 isn't a bad engine at all, its just really choked from the factory. its got to be just about the cheapest engine ever made to add power to.

    I have not seen any 5.0 e30, but it is actually a fairly common swap into a miata, and it makes for an exciting miata.

    s62 = lightweight monster that is easily able to get over 450hp. oh, and it totally will keep the same balance of the car!

    i have plans on doing a LS1 & T56 swap (6speed) some time within in the next few months.
    just wait'n for the tax stimulus check to finish off a few parts on the list.
    garrett on one of the other forums is almost complete with his.

    It has been done. There's one on bf.c somewhere. Plus there has been some on craigslist and ebay from time to time. And i don't see how a aluminum block 302 would be cheap to build.

    back in my american muscle days early1990s a 5.0 was the reference for the Mustang motor. 214hp if I remember right.
    actually I have even seen one stuffed into an e30 over here in germany. not really all that impressive actually with all the other motor possibilities out there. a low boost turbo on a stock internal 325i should be stronger.-- and handle better.
