Long time E30 lover, long time car freak and DIY'er.
After a lengthy list of previous cars, I find myself here with the oldest car I've ever owned, and aspire to have a long and happy relationship with.
I come from a heavy VW background, so worry not- the quirks and gremlins only increase the love/hate relationship with the ongoing saga of euro-love.
Anyhow, picked up an' 85 on the cheap (see: $1000)-
very little rust- aside from the drivers side front fender- the floors are rock solid...pulled carpet and all.
Have a lower KM'd eta bottom end, and "I" head mated very shortly, after the body work and suspension is looked after.
Keep in mind I live in Ottawa, Ontario...it's VERY tough to find a 'clean' shell...unless you're ebay'ing and buying from southern US.
