Seriously? You go to buy a car... have no cash to buy said car, then get pissed when someone who has cash buys it???

This makes no sense, why would he put it on hold for you with no money down?? I would of done the same thing to you. Don\'t waste my time coming to buy a car but not having a way to complete the transaction....Comment

dude, we made an agreement. a good agreement. an agreement so good that he was actually allowing me to tow the car home and he was going to meet me at the bank the next morning. he put the title in the glovebox and kept th transfer papers. i told him how much i needed it and he lowered the price for me so i could get it. then he allowed my dad to drive all the way up there with a trailor that we rented from uhaul on the spot.Seriously? You go to buy a car... have no cash to buy said car, then get pissed when someone who has cash buys it???

I feel for you. If he knew you were going through all of the trouble of bringing a trailer down, and agreed to it, he should have at least waited a few minutes for your trailer to come.

The thing is, if you give your word to someone, you should follow through. Yeah, the seller could've been screwed if the OP had to back out(apparently he wasn't going to) but if you promise something, you shouldn't screw the buyer over. Even though I've dealt with a fair share of flakes, I still feel this way

What the seller basically said was "I promise I'll sell the car to your for 400. I agree to all of your terms. I know it will take you time, money, and trouble to come out and buy the car, but don't worry, we have an agreement!" Then when he gets there, "Sorry, I lied. Have a nice day."

Cliff notes: If you're selling something, don't make promises you can't honor, or else you're a dbag.Last edited by brandondan1; 03-20-2008, 08:17 AM.

How did the Mexican dude know that the Rich guy was selling the car and how did he just come out of nowhere with cash in hand?

That sounds kind of strange. Not accusing you of embellishing the truth or anything like that, but I'm just wondering if you could go a little more into detail about that part as it sounds pretty bizarre.

I mean the Amigo shows up out of nowhere, asks if the car is for sale, which it was, somehow knows that you are buying the car but that you don't have the cash in hand, but he does.

 That's a strange coincidence.

Again, I'm not accusing you of making anything up, but that is one bizarre coincidence.

Also, he starting talking smack about you. I would have verbally ripped him to shreds and told him to mind his own f'n business, and I would've reminded Rich guy seller that we had a deal, a Man is only as good as his word, etc...

Again, I can't really blame him for selling the car to the person with the cash, but if you had the title in hand ready to sign, he should've had to pry the title from your cold, dead hands.

Can you give us more details?sigpic
