My convertible top needs to be changed, and i was waiting for the summer to be over because it doesnt really look that bad. i just wanted it to be perfect, but last night my plastic rear window cracked. Instead of just changing the plastic window now. I rather do the whole top. My question is where can i get a top for a good price. I would like it to look just like the original. I just heard of Kwiktops has any body heard or tried their tops are they good. They want $365 for a top. Do i need to by the cables. If anyone has had to do this let me know. Would like to get this done by next weekend.

I changed mine, bought it on Ebay, changesd the tension cables and tension straps.
Cost me about $500 for everything and 20 hours of painful installation.
The top looks good and is installed properly but if iI had to do it over again, I'd spend the $500 of installation fee the guy was asking for!344is! Obd1 conversion

I just got a rear window from these guys, It sucks!! The window was 2" too wide and 1" too short in height. The cheap fix is only good if it works.
I guess it's time to pony up for genuine BMW.

I got mine at topsonline.com. I would recommend a new front seal and retainer strip as well as new straps. The old retainer and seal will probably be destroyed while disassembling. I installed mine myself. The hardest part of the job is removing all the old glue from the frame. A wire wheel in a drill motor is the easiest way to get 'er done. The job is not hard, just tedious and requires a lot of patience. Whatever you do, follow instructions. If your cables and springs are in good condition, they will not need to be replaced. And the best part of all, no leaks!!!!!!!!
