In the E30, quite a few times. One guy saw my car parked at the back of my work lot everyday and one evening waited there for hours until I came out. Said he'd been staring at my car for months and decided that night that he had to just post up outside and wait for me. Ended up that he recognized it from both here and on maXbimmer, wanted to buy it on the spot. Besides that moment there have been lots of stoplight conversations, etc.
With the M3, back in September I came back to my car parked at school to find a note, torn from a binder: "I want to buy your car. Call me. xxx-xxx-xxxx." Guy ended up seeing me driving down the street in front of campus immediately after, and chased me down in his E36 328i. I thought this dude was a whacko, it didn't click it was him that left the note until we had pulled over. All I saw was some screaming kid hanging out the side of a car telling me to pull over.

I got my car in the first place by asking the PO if she would sell it to me. Took three months, but she did. Within a week of buying my car a kid came up and asked if he could buy it. I laughed and said no, but appreciated the effort. Turns out he already had a 325ic anyway. We are now friends.Originally posted by chileelkyamaze about the enthusiasm e30 generate

Juuust pllayying...
I've never had anyone ask to buy my car. Hell, not once in my Eta has someone told me they like my car, besides at Ofest or something - never a random person on the street. That's ok. lol- Sean Hayes

Had a schwarz eta I was cleaning up for a daily driver, had just done all the maintenance on it, washed/claybar/wax etc. Came out of the grocery store and there was a guy walking around it, asked me how much "how much you got?" We hashed out a deal as he drove to the bank, gave me the cash and dropped me off at home. Had it for such a short time that I never got it registered/tagged, only had a bill of sale.
I kind of regret selling it now, it's getting hard to find a clean car around here and there is at least a dozen people looking for one on various car forums in the area. Maybe I should hurry and finish mine up then sell it for a premium?
