M30 mounts lost - but M30 motor is found....

(edit - I order motor mounts from e30.de - 2 months later - nothing...the motor mounts are custom peieces that allow you to drop a m30 motor into a e30)

Yep - you can thank DHL for that one - any of you that were waiting for me to get them - you can look elsewhere....

I waited 2 months (normal) and no mounts..."lost" DHL says....

I think I will have a set fabed up myself...I'm taking advanced order(no money yet, but only those that are dead serious about them)

price to be announced....no more than $230 - hopefully in the $150 range...but I'll have to see....

Man that sucks, will you be able to get your money back? Will e30.de ship the mounts some other way? I was almost considering buying some but I don't want to go threw the hassle of items being lost in the mail as I've lost 3 sets of pr35/85 pistons in the mail.

He only insured them for his cost to have them made - I think for all the time I waited that he should bite the bullet on this sale and ship another set FedEx. It's like $150 or something...

He'll proably just refund my money... I'll have spent 2 F-ING months waiting for something...

Thanks man - I want to do some more - but I need quality shots from a digital camera with "burst" mode....

He should do at least something since he didn't insure them for the full amount, If you make some mounts for the older block count me in.

Nice, if you do decide to go with an older engine for some reason I have a list of 6 all for $300 or less.

                damn george... that SUCKS.
I think we can get something made up here, but its going to be interesting...
what about those plates that mount the motor with stock mounts shifted back? those would be easier to create and duplicate and then you have factory mounts.

what engine position are you shooting for george? if your doing mounts for position #2 than I'd be insterested depending on price

I wondered about motor mounts plates myself, I'd think they'd work fine but who knows.

I doubt the geomentry would be right - motor would und up too high up it anything(assuming the m30 motor is wider - and I sure it is)

M3 ryan may still have this old e28 M30 long block at his house - I forget when did the factor change the bolt location on the block? Between e28 and the e34? So all the mounting location from the 3.0 to the e28 are the same block?

God we need our own e30m30 fourm.... :)

edit - I am going for position 2 - I might actually now go for position "2 and 1/2" - I'm really not afraid to bang the footwell a tad - say an inch or 3/4"...

ya between the E28 and E34. the motor it self is wider but the mountin arms are narrower, I'm going to experiment with dropping my engine into my parts car and see how everything lines up. Using a plate would only raise the engine 1/8th of an inch I'd think.
