Best method for polishing window trim?

Like the title states, the trim around the windows is pretty nasty.

Rather than painting it, I'd rather shine it up nicely to match the kidneys and the polished lip on my SSR's.

So what's their magical solution that's $60? The only other part of the kit is 2000 grit sandpaper.

Dont bother with the bavauto kit. i dont agree with topical solutions in this kind of issue.

The kit suggests using 2k grit but i found it to be too fine for getting the job done in a realistic amount of time.
I had 600 grit Gator wet/dry laying around and found it to be pretty damn good. It filled up fast with dry use and wet wasnt cutting the oxidation like i wanted. And when it filled is when problems with deeper scratching came about so dont be afraid to renew often as you work your way down the strips.

You will have extremely fine scratching, but here is where the next steps come into play.
Purchase a buffing kit found at lowes/hd or maybe even automotive stores. One with small and large wheel and emery and white rogue.
Use the Emery on the small wheel and buff the lengths slowly and smoothly and various directions. This is a time consuming process but it really does a nice job.
Lastly use the white rogue on the large wheel and it will polish it to a shine. Use the same process you used with the emery wheel, going slow and in multiple directions.

You could do this with it on the car but it makes it harder to get with the buffing wheels at all the angles. If you are performing the process with the trim off (which its not all that hard to remove) you need to be careful when buffing to not let the wheel have its way with the metal and bend it.
