    88is for sale? Look good?

    Looking at this car. http://atlanta.craigslist.org/car/632863831.html

It has a little rust on the rear valence, nothing too major, interior needs some work. Runs great. Has 172k on it. I offered him 1k and he accepted, whatca think?

Really it is kinda hard to tell by that picture/ad. I do not think I would pay over $700ish for it though...

          The good:
          solid body
          Very little rust
it runs (needs a tune up)
Dependable, I bought it for $5000 and have put nowhere near that into it.
Replaced the radio with a cd player
I have not needed a clutch job as yet in 7 years.
          Most everything works.
          Strong engine
          Wipers work

Aren't the things highlighted in Red bad things?

Clean body of an '88 is worth something, no matter what.

Make it perform well with tune up, likely some suspension stuff, gonna have all the usual water leaks, whatever. Maybe $500 or a bit more.

Make it pretty with a set of plastic bumpers, a drop, decent wheels, another $800~$1000, depending on your taste and ability to score a decent set of wheels cheap..a set of euroweaves and fresh tires would look good on a decent drop.

The only worry would be expecting to buy the thing and all is good...plan on spending some quality time and money on these cars, or buy something else.

I know that it is no where near perfect and i plan on spending money to get it to good running and driving state. I already have some nice 16" weaves and am currently looking for suspension components. We will see how it looks friday when i go to pick it up.
