    Any wheels without spacers?

I'm looking for wheels ... 16", maybe 17". But some of you guys recommend looking for
    something without spacers ....

What kind of wheels are available without spacers ... and why are they so bad?

There is nothing wrong with high quality aluminum spacers made for your car/wheel.

Cheapo made in china universal spacers are what create problems with vibrations etc.

Pretty much all wheels that are designed to fit an E30 will go on without spacers.

It's when you try to fit wheels for a different model/manufacturer that you can have problems. For example, VW 4 lug wheels have exactly the same bolt pattern and spigot size, but the offset is usually about 10mm higher. If you wish to use these wheels, you need spacers (10mm in this case) to get the wheels to sit correctly on the E30.

Now, spacers as such are not bad. It's when you use poorly made or badly fitting spacers that you get problems. If you use a good quality spacer (H&R or eibach for example) that has the correct spigot size front and back, then you will be fine.

I have been using 10 & 15mm spacers on my car for years, and have not had a single problem. You need to ensure the hub faces are nice and clean, as any dirt trapped between the hub and spacer is going to cause vibration etc.

You can run into problems if you use thinner spacers though. These tend not to have the internal/external spigot location, and the wheel has nothing to locate to on the hub. You really don't want to do this. Very bad. 10mm and upwards (within reason) are normally okay.

      Cheers,

      Ian.

hubcentric..... the spigot... is really called a hub.....

it is more cost effective to get wheels that dont require spacers even if they are $200 more, becasue 4 spacers with lug bolts will cost near $200

so your $400 set of honda wheels turn out to be $600
