    A/C install

I'm looking for an e30 for several weeks now and found a '90 325is for 1200. Haven't seen the car yet but description said a/c was removed. I called the guy and he said he took all a/c components out.
Question now is, how hard and how much is it to put a/c back into the car? What components should i buy to complete the a/c? I'll be using the car as a daily driver and want a/c for the times it will be hot here in san diego.

Unless there's something hugely in favor of that car, I'd pass on it and find one with working A/C. Here in SoCal, if the A/C doesn't work, then there's a good chance that the rest of the car is equally neglected.

I figure that if somebody is that hurting that they'd drive around in SD sweating like a pig, then they probably don't have money to take care of routine maintenance. Then again, maybe this is a nicely prepared track car which you're returning to street duty. Probably not, though.

"Several weeks" is probably three, but it seems like ages. If you jump at the first thing that seems like half-ass reasonable, then two weeks, maybe two months, later, you'll find something way better. Easy to say, though. I've not entirely learned that lesson but I am getting better. Dispensing this advice might not do jack for you, but it helps me in my therapy. ;- )

Just keep watching the classifieds on the forums, and Roundel too. You'll score something nice if you can hold out. Buy the best thing you can afford, even if you can't quite afford it. You'll save money, perhaps a lot of money, which you didn't think you could afford but would end up spending anyway.
