    quick question.

hey guys sorry about all the new threads. But is this needed? it looks like it holds the manifold in place. Do you think everything would be fine without it?

I would say yes it's important, it supports the intake on that side of the motor. Never ran one without but imagine you could crack/stress the intake manifold without it. The engineers put it there for a reason.

It's mad weight savings if you take it off, and technically, you are improving your handling since there's less weight in the front off the car. Makes for a closer 50-50 weight distribution.

I allways thought that bracket was overkill. But my eta had a i cover on it when i got it, and i ran with out that bracket for awhile. Nothing happened to the intake.

I have access to some carbon fiber and a machine shop here, as long as I stay on the tech's good sides and it won't take too much carbon. I'd be interested in knowing how you managed this, if there was any issues from vibration, heat, etc. I guess it would depend on the epoxy chemistry used, but I'm not positive.

Exactly. If you feel that the thing looks cruddy, just remove it, clean it up with a wire brush or whatever technique you prefer, then install it and forget about it.

make a CF intake manifold. Now that would be pimp.
