    Help me gather sale values!

I Got hit last Friday, and I think it's in my best interests to find comparable cars to mine that have sold in the southern Midwest, like the Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, etc. areas. I have an 1989 325i, zinno, with it several dents/dings, paint is beginning to fade in small spots, about 217k miles, etc. I have IE3's and Bilstein sports, not many mods at all.

    Here are some pictures:

Some pre-existing damage from the previous owner

    And a pre-tire-wall pic:

Yes, It's not pretty, and that's why I haven't posted pics up before. I am trying to gauge the value of the car, so I can work with them if they try to total it.

If you want to know, I got hit by an '03 Chevy pickup, some high-school kids in it, sober, that decided that instead of staying in the left-turn lane at the light, they should go straight, and merged right over me. The door is smashed, can't roll down the window, can't open it from outside, I can see the crash bar sticking out about 1" compared to the rest of the door skin, and a nice big dent from the door jam, pushing the rear driver's wheel well into a pie-crust pattern, going all the way back to crack my driver's tail light. What does he get? A little red paint on his big steel bumper.

Dude, that blows. Whatre your plans? Get another e30 and transfer the good stuff over?

Oh and I'd venture to say 2K to 2.5k$ max.

As time went on, the factory developed the car each year, making it faster, more comfortable, and capable of handling at higher speeds.
You don’t want this. You want the trickiest, most dangerous, oldest model you can find. Only then can you prove to the world that you’re a man.

Oh, sorry, I'm currently in College Station, Texas. I'm from Abingdon, VA, near Bristol.

The plan is to get a hammer and dolly from a friend, bang out the rear quarter, replace the door, get the rest of the dings sorted, get it painted, and pull the interior, go for a spec e30.

The insurance company will try to rape you on it. They said my dads 99 528i manual with just over 100k on it was worth $10k, they took all the comparable(automatic) cars, and deducted value for problems on his car, like the for sale ones were problem free...

If you really want to know what your car is worth, try to buy one just like it.

I'm still only a DE student, and it's a great learning platform. I'm not worried about being the only one, there are a few others who've expressed interest among the College station crowd, and I'd most likely be put into the Spec RX7 and Spec Miata group for the sprint races, so I'd still have other racers to mix it up with.

Spec E30 needs someone to get it moving in Texas, so why not?
