manual sunroof crank won't stay in?

Just picked me up my first e30, a '90 325i. Noticed today that the sunroof crank won't stay in, it just keeps falling out.. whats an easy fix for this?

mine did the same thing, i've fixed it twice...

take off the plastic cover, remove the 2 screws holding in the handle, remove it, stick the metal part with the 2 ball notches into a vise, squeeze pretty tight, re-install. It will get loose again in a couple months, so just do it again, it takes about 5 minutes. New ones are like $20 i think, so if it really bugs you, replace it, but i "fix" mine, and it works real good. Good luck, let me know if you have any questions...

eh, that didn't work too well.

first off i have no idea what 'two screws' you're talking about, the metal handle is attached to the circular mount by one screw..

i removed that and squeezed the part that fits over a protruding knob, then i couldn't get it back on for the life of me, so i managed to squeeze it back out again and its tighter, but still loose as hell.. kind of pissing me off.. i think i might wrap the tip in teflon tape or something and try tossing it back on.
