well the cabrio made it to vegas but killed the clutch on the way. it still drives but makes one hell of a noise. so its off the the shop to get fixed.
it got to the point where it was making the noise if the clutch wasnt engaged. but yes it started only when the pedal was depressed then when u started it. i think it is the throw out bearing. but because of the problem it started to spin the clutch thus killing it too.
I just went through this and it was actually the pilot bearing that had pulled out of the crank. Squealed on startup and then got quite until I pushed the pedal down and then it went to screamin'. I know it sounds odd, but, it did happen. Took me like 5 hours to pull the tranny, clutch, and put it all back together.
yea the throw out bearing was locked up and the pilot bearing was screwed. plus they r replacing the rear output seal, shift seal, reverse light switch, guibo, trans monts, and pivot pin. so it will be straight when all is said and done.
Thats a hell of a drive. I have done it twice, once out and back.
While there goto Green Valley ranch to do any gambling or partying if you want to win something and to stay away from the tourist trap on the strip. Very cool place to hang at.
