As of now its a trade, but Id really like to sell it. Ill get more and I know itll end up in better care. I suppose if i was smart ida stripped the RD front off of it before I took it in. It's on Portland and Seattle Craigslist...also in the cars for sale section.
Auto trans is pretty damn nice, I hate driving stick and this one aint bad...especially with the "manual mode". I get some great pick up with it too, went from 55 to 110 in the blink of an eye on the highway today.Comment

so when you yanking the motor and putting it into an e30?Originally posted by ebelementsAlso, for those who don't know, negative camber is the greatest thing since sliced bread(panera). Even tire wear is for city busses and the elderly.

I am gonna have to go with these guys.
This is an enthusiast forum. The E30, being old, generally unreliable, generally cantankerous requires an enthusiast , not a "BMW owner".
You, most obviously being in the latter category, should not be driving an E30.
As far as your comment on women being unable to "handle" the 3.0, WTF, do you think you are some kind of super duty manly-man able to handle that throbbing 225HP and 214 ft.lbs of torque? Give me a break, with that car all you do is push the fucking "go" pedal!
After reading what you say and how you say it, I am glad you are no longer among the ranks of us enthusiasts. You don't deserve an E30.Comment

Heh, yeah i figured id probably be rejected back to the tiny "Z" section in Bimmerforums. Though....i honestly am torn at dumping the e30, and if you guys knew what I had to do to get it you might give me a little more slack. I know i know i bought a total non "r3vlimited" car and put myself in the ranks of a "BMW owner"...but im def. no yuppie.
It does suck in the fact that I had an M-Tech kit lined up, a hardtop partially paid for, and a few other pricy "rare" items sitting in my apartment. I really wanted to fix this one up like ive done in the past, but given the fact that i dont have a place to work on the thing and the good ol Portland weather seems to be more gloomy than expected....i pussed out on it. The only point of getting the thing was to be able to take a two week road trip this summer, though i quickly discovered i got way over my head and crapped all my money on rediculous things...i also didnt trust that it would last that many miles in such a short time.
And yes, women can handle powerful cars just as well as men, there are female pro race car drivers. I also made good friends with many female track, rally, and plain ol streed drivers on past forums. I was just being stupid, though yesterday while wiping the Z down a few chicks in an Eos vert across the street proved my theory on that....haha. The had more makeup than brains and referred to Auto Zone as the "car stuff store" as if they would have to send someone in to get them what they needed because they couldnt stoop so low (even though they were in a VW).
And as for the whole auto trans...I wont take offense. I had always wanted to drive a stick, until i got one. I quickly discovered it wasnt my thing, especially living downtown with a lot of stops and traffic. Also, when cruising around for two weeks a 5 spd might become a little bothersome.
Thats all i got for now.Comment

So, yeah, as far as the "don't like driving a stick" and "got in over my head" thing...yeah, lots of us have gone through that whole "traffic sucks with a stick" and "damn I am tired of Ramen" and all that...but that is EXACTLY what separates an enthusiast from a BMW owner.
Honestly enough, you aren't an enthusiast. Fret not; most people who drive BMWs aren't.
We sit around talking about tiny differences in heater controls, brake bits, whatever. Being an enthusiast mean these cars aren't transportation or style, but simply a hobby.
In the meantime, that is one clean example of a Z3.
So, good luck on it, good luck on the keep or not decision of the E30...but if you do sell it, find an enthusiast to sell it to.
