    Values of an e30?

So I have some value-related questions for you guys.
I've taken posession of an '87 325iS. It's straight as an arrow, and 110% rust free. It runs and drives pretty well. I have a tranny I'm going to swap into it (due to a carrier bearing) and refresh a few little things here and there.
The problem is that it has no interior, and the paint is shot.
How much more or less in value is a car with shot paint?
Should I leave the paint if I intend on selling the car? Should I try painting it myself? Should I do a full on paint-job on it through a friend?
I also need an interior. How much value will an interior add to the car vs. selling it without.

Basically, I have a stripped 325iS 5-speed that is straight and rust free but has toast clearcoat that I want to sell.
Seeking advice from my fellow r3v'ers.

Having an interior is pretty important, as it opens the car up to a lot more potential buyers. You can almost always get a complete interior at a pick and pull for like $25-50 a seat, $25 for carpet.

The paint is only worth it if it can be done CHEAP. Maaco jobs can look good and as long as there's no bodywork required, and if you prep everything yourself (removing trim, taillights, side glass, etc.), it can come out looking pretty damn good. Don't be tempted to do a color change. Just get it sprayed in whatever color the car used to be.

If you don't have any spray equipment, it will cost more than a Maaco job to get the correct equipment to ensure your stuff comes out looking halfway decent.

If I re-paint it, it will of course stay the same color. If I do it, it'l be at school in the paint booth, or I can go througha friend who does auto paint for a living. he can re-paint the whole car for $600 if I help prep it.

I've got tan door cards I will donate to you. Let me know. PM me if you want it.

Put the car together and flip it like you usually do. Cars that are unfinished immediately bring way less than what it will take to make them finished. I think you know how I know.
