    What would you do?

I have an ETA... I spent a shit load of time swapping in i parts inb hopes it would become fast. I camshaft and valvesprings and throttle body. I never did the motronic 1.3 upgrade to reap the benefits. The motor has 130k miles on it. Anyway on craigslist there is a parts car 525i with m20b25. If it could get the motor off of him for 250 would it be less hassle to just swap the whole motor then to switch parts around and do the 1.3 upgrade? Also would i be better off with a non rigged clean m20b25? Im just really sick of my slow ETA and 1.3 upgrade sounds like a bitch.

    so... what would you do?

Would i finally be a happy "is" owner or would i just be aggravated about all the wasted time.

Hmmm, yes probably less hassle, but you still need 55pin motronic for it to really work well.

        ... what Byron said :)

However, it all lies in whatever your budget is...

Even if you get the E34 motor, you still have to do the 1.3 upgrade, no matter what.

And, keep in mind, the "i" motor isn't exactly fast. I like mine, but it isn't fast.

That was the original plan and still may do it one day. Well ill see what happens. If i could pick the motor up for cheap i could put it in my car and then start building my 2.7 to take boost.

go big or leave it alone. all the work to drop an I motor in it will leave you scratching your head and asking yourself why the hell you did all that for this. lug the e around and appreciate the mileage while you save your lootcakes to do something that will pay off

Nope, just the engine and harness.
