Empty gas symbol

When does the empty/reservoir gas symbol come on? when it hits the red? or when it gets past the line behind the red? Im trying to determine if my light is broken or i just never let it get low enough.

man I hate how unobservant i am sometimes.

If you had a sport model your range setting would tell you that at about 35 miles left on your tank the light will turn on.

you just havent let it get low enough.

Mine doesnt really work, i was hoping the neddel went to the end of the red light, man was i wrong that one time :)

Mine comes on when I have like 20 miles left. I have yet to verify this and hope I never do but I have only gone like 20 miles with that light on before. Stupid, yes, I will admit it. But I had other priorities.

Iv gotten mine to the end of the red and it hasnt come on

Mine hits the far end and comes on. sometimes It will go away if I take a turn real hard but thats because of the two parts of the tank.

Unless the bulb is blown, then it won't come on at all!

mine only started working after it was almost over the lit part. The light doesn't always like to stay in the back of the cluster; it might have fallen out. Or you still had too much gas.

I think my light is broken. But then my gas gauge is crazy erratic, it doesn't work 95% percent of the time. One of these days when I'm low I'll try jacking up the car to see if it gets the light to come on.
