There are no wires, the horn works through the metal contact ring

not meaning to hijack but i am just to lazy to make a new thread what is the procedure to removing the 318is steering wheel i ask due to the airbag. i would prefer not having that go off while trying to remove it.

Disconnect the battery for like 10 min to make sure all the power is out of it before you get pwned by a airbag. After that on the steering column right underneath there is a cover/cap just feel around for it and pop that out and unplug the plug thats on it. Once you have that settle feel around behind the steering wheel and you will find 2 hole close to the center of the wheels. Its a torx bit I believe a very small one(forgot the size) that will release the bag and then from there its straight forward.

Geez, I got railed for starting a steering wheel thread a week or so ago! Anyhow, yeah, it's a very simple swap, I definitely did a "doh!" when I saw how easy it was.

Cranking the wheel off that's been on since 1985, on the other hand, was quite the chore...
